Chapter 12

A security unit and a group of refugees attempt to board an evacuation boat at a transit station while Barish-Estranza forces mount an attack on the facility. The unit realizes B-E's assault is a distraction covering an underwater incursion through a decommissioned lower-level tram system to reach the unit's hiding location.

The group arrives at a transit station dock under militia guard as Barish-Estranza forces move into the zone. The unit finds Naja, Sofi, and Janity waiting with bags and quickly moves everyone toward the docks to board an arriving cargo boat. When an armored B-E vehicle pulls up to the station entrance and begins threatening the militia, the unit leaves Farai and the others to board while it intervenes. Working with the local militia leader, the unit discovers B-E intends to target the tram loading on the second level. As it takes control of news drones and monitors B-E communications, the unit uncovers a critical threat: B-E forces are using the frontal assault as a distraction while other operatives attempt to breach through a decommissioned underwater dock system that connects to the maintenance tunnels near the safehouse apartment. Realizing this means B-E has tracked them to the station, the unit surrenders its borrowed weapon and prepares to defend against the underwater incursion while the boat loads.
