Chapter Eleven

Leonide's rogue faction of Barish-Estranza operatives attempt to assassinate her during a negotiation meeting, but are stopped by Murderbot and Iris. The group flees through the installation as a second hostile shuttle arrives, forcing them to escape through alternate routes while Murderbot hacks Barish-Estranza's systems and commandeers the security network to neutralize threats.

During a meeting in a camera-free room, Leonide and her B-E colleagues arrive to discuss the colonists' contract. When Adelsen attempts to shoot Leonide, Murderbot intervenes, protecting Iris and disabling the three armed B-E humans. A rogue Barish-Estranza SecUnit enters through the hatch, and Iris forces Adelsen to shut it down using a command code. Leonide agrees to join their escape in exchange for passage. As they flee through corridors toward the shuttle hangar, they discover a second armed B-E shuttle approaching and an explosion blocks their primary exit route. Trapped in a storage room as HostileSecUnit2 breaches the hatch, Murderbot gains access to AdaCol2's camera network after it fights off a hacking attempt from Barish-Estranza. Murderbot successfully hacks into the first B-E shuttle's systems and uses ART-drone's distraction to send a shutdown command to HostileSecUnit2 via its governor module. ART-drone pilfers the original B-E shuttle and escapes through the hangar with Ratthi. Murderbot, Iris, and Leonide slip past the now-inert HostileSecUnit2. Multiple armed B-E personnel remain in the installation, including a second shuttle with unknown capabilities and potentially additional SecUnits. Murderbot plans to lead the group to an alternate exit through the unused terraforming hangar corridor.
