Carl and his companions face the catastrophic detonation of the soul crystal. After barely surviving an initial explosion and securing the unstable device in his inventory, they learn four precursor bursts will occur before a final magical explosion. The group flees the city, dealing with each burst's unpredictable effects on magical equipment, and barely reaches the stairwell to the fourth floor as the timer expires.

Carl wakes to find the soul crystal has exploded silently, with energy rays burning Remex and setting the warehouse floor on fire. Carl retrieves the transformed item—now called Carl's Doomsday Scenario, an unstable explosive—into his inventory, burning his hands in the process. The quest notification reveals three more precursor bursts will follow before a final wild magic explosion in twenty minutes. The group flees the warehouse as the floor collapses. Remex, convulsing from the burst, remains behind as Carl and Donut escape. Carl instructs crawlers to remove magical equipment and directs people to flee east. The second burst detonates a crawler's quiver, killing him instantly. As they run, a third burst destroys remaining equipped armor and weapons. At the fourth burst, items in inventories activate uncontrollably—Katia's Rush skill triggers involuntarily, throwing Carl to the ground and breaching a wall; healing and mana potions auto-consume, poisoning Carl and Donut. They reach a decrepit building with a stairwell to the fourth floor. Daniel Bautista appears and confirms the way down. Mordecai, safe in his room, reveals NPCs are secure and guards have been weakened. Carl acknowledges Mordecai's imminent freedom from the dungeon. The group descends toward the fourth floor with roughly 100 seconds remaining before the final detonation. Katia activates a detonator Carl provided as they prepare to enter, though Carl doubts it will function after the magical bursts. Only then does Donut remind Carl he has no pants, having removed all magical clothing during the evacuation.
