10. Catching the Train

Bob attempts to access the transit station using Natasha's security pass. After modifying his facial features to better match Natasha's appearance and deciding against tunneling in, he successfully enters the station and boards a monorail train bound for Halep's Ending, where he believes Bender is located.

Bob surveys the transit station and weighs his options for entry. He considers using Natasha's security pass but worries about facial recognition systems that might compare his appearance to hers. He consults with Bill and then Locutus about the adjustability of his manny's facial features. Following Locutus's instructions, Bob modifies his facial structure to better resemble Natasha's, though imperfectly. He approaches the transit station's side entrance, uses the security card to unlock the door, and proceeds through the facility. He takes an elevator to a corridor that opens into a platform area lined with airlocked doors and card reader panels. When he presents the security card to one of the readers and requests Halep's Ending as a destination, the system confirms the location exists and informs him a train will arrive in 168 seconds (one and a half veks). Bob finally feels confident that Bender is within reach.
