Luke catches up on events across the Bobiverse while observing the Deltans' progress, including their development of bow technology and improved shelter designs.

Bob is monitoring Delta Eridani I through camouflaged drones and real-time VR when Luke contacts him from Kappa Ceti. Luke describes his recent hazing by Bill and shares his discovery of a super-Earth with 3G gravity and a thriving ecosystem that he has been cataloguing. He mentions having started another load of Bobs. While they talk, Archimedes and his son Buster arrive with hunting bows and freshly killed game, demonstrating the Deltans' technological progress. Bob explains he is preparing them for future hippogriff encounters. Luke asks about other clones—Bob notes that Marvin left years ago but stays in touch, and that he has no word from Bender, though one clone is tracking Bender's flight path and should report within a year or two. The chapter ends with Luke settling in to catch up properly with Bob.
