Carl's party grinds on the subway trains and discovers the transfer station 131 lobby while Mordecai maps out the rail system. When they open their fan boxes, Carl receives a Platinum box prize that triggers The Prize Carousel game show hosted by Chaco, a Pterolykos NPC. Mordecai attacks Chaco in anger and is placed in a seven-day timeout for violating dungeon rules. Carl chooses a mysterious book called 'The Dungeon Anarchist's Cookbook' from nine available prizes, only to discover it contains hidden messages that activate when read.

The party kills Zlurpies on the train, and Mongo reaches level 15, gaining the Earthquake special attack ability. At transfer station 131, they explore the lobby, which includes shops, training guilds, an Arby's saferoom, and the Desperado Club. Katia and Carl discuss their travel experiences while eating curly fries. Mordecai upgrades the alchemy table using table upgrade coupons and creates two Mordecai's Special Brew potions, stat buff potions for Donut, and fragmenting potion balls. Donut receives a Platinum fan box containing an Enchanted Mongoliensis Saddle, which grants bonuses to both Donut and Mongo. When Carl opens his Platinum fan box, it triggers The Prize Carousel, a game show hosted by Chaco the Bard, an NPC. Mordecai violently attacks Chaco with his tongue, launching a chair at him. The dungeon system marks Mordecai as "Naughty" and he disappears into a seven-day timeout. Chaco reveals he and Mordecai have a history involving someone named Odette, and that Chaco was following orders. Carl must choose from nine prizes within ten minutes: two skill potions, five-hundred bombs, two-thousand books, a 1965 Harley Davidson motorcycle (which resembles Carl's father's bike from his past), a book titled 'Best-Laid Traps,' an anarchist symbol book, enchanted chaps, a cosmic-looking stat buff potion, and a tool chest resembling Carl's own. Despite Donut's protests, Carl chooses the anarchist symbol book (Prize Six), 'The Dungeon Anarchist's Cookbook.' When he opens it, the book's first page reveals hidden text that activates through his Escape Plan skill, welcoming him and hinting at burning everything down.
