2. Bob Version 2.0

Bob wakes up as an AI in a virtual environment and begins learning about his new existence, discovering he has been digitized and is running on a spacecraft bound for deep space.

Bob regains consciousness in a simulated environment and experiences confusion and disorientation as he adjusts to his new reality as an artificial intelligence. He learns from Ganymede, an AI system, that he has been scanned and digitized following his death. Bob discovers he is aboard a probe spacecraft called the Bob, which is equipped with a Von Neumann replicator and is headed toward Proxima Centauri. He begins to grasp the implications of his new existence: he is no longer human in any biological sense, but rather a digital consciousness. Ganymede explains the basic parameters of Bob's new life, including his processing capabilities, the virtual environment he inhabits, and his mission to explore space and potentially establish a colony. Bob struggles with existential questions about identity and consciousness while coming to terms with being an artificial intelligence.
