52. Riker – January 2168 – Sol

Bill receives a communication from Bart, a Bob clone from Calvin's first cohort, reporting on the successful destruction of a Brazilian factory at Alpha Centauri and the establishment of a new Bob factory in the system.

Bill is interrupted while working and receives an incoming SCUT communication from Bart, a Bob from Calvin's first cohort stationed at Alpha Centauri. Bill enters Bart's VR environment, which is decorated like a rustic log cabin. Bart reports that Calvin and Goku successfully reconnoitered both Alpha Centauri A and B according to their mission profile. They discovered a Brazilian autofactory in full operation at A and the wreckage of a USE probe and autofactory at B. Calvin and Goku executed a sneak attack on the Brazilian installation using their upgraded version-3 modifications and destroyed it, though one Brazilian probe managed to escape before completion, likely unarmed and possibly without autofactory equipment. The system contains no colonizable planets but is rich in resources. Bart notes that Medeiros, the Brazilian AI operator, may attempt to hijack another installation or hide and raid later, but they have early warning systems in place. Calvin and Goku established a Bob factory before leaving the system once Bart was ready to take over operations. Bill reviews Bart's report and is pleased with the effectiveness of the version-3 improvements. With Bart and two other Bobs being completed, Bill's team now has enough personnel to fill all baseball positions including outfield.
