30. Bob – April 2165 – Delta Eridani

Bob (operating as Milo) completes his seven-month survey of Romulus and Vulcan at Omicron 2 Eridani, leaving behind an autofactory, drones, and defensive busters. He departs the system for 82 Eridani, choosing not to create additional copies of himself and deciding against colonizing the area.

After seven months of examining and cataloging the biologies of Romulus and Vulcan, Bob prepares to leave Omicron 2 Eridani. He has uploaded all observations, reports, and images to the space station for forwarding to Bill and Sol. Drones have mapped ore deposits throughout the system. Bob leaves behind an autofactory and drones to refine resources for future colonists, along with a squad of defensive busters programmed to ram Medeiros on sight. He deliberately avoids creating additional Bob copies, reasoning that colonists will need the resources more and uncertain whether replication worked well for Bob-1. After reviewing local stars and selecting 82 Eridani as his next destination, Bob submits a final report of his intentions and departs, activating his SURGE drive while playing music at high volume.
