Summary
Kael reflects on the seven days since her last encounter with Sev, when he played a song that moved her to tears and she fell asleep in his arms, only to wake wrapped in Slátra's tail. Though Sev continues to leave fresh meals and small stone dragon carvings by her door each day, he no longer comes to see her or play music. Each time Kael discovers the empty hallway, she channels her humiliation and emotional pain into her training with Veya, directing her feelings into increasingly intense punches and kicks.
