Epilogue

Arkyn, the Scavenger King, observes Princess Kyzari in her cell from the shadows, noting her physical resemblance to his Fire Lark but remarking on her emotional fragility and refined upbringing in contrast. He emerges and offers her a blank parchment and runed quill, claiming it grants her release. Kyzari eagerly signs the document, though she realizes it is blank. Unbeknownst to Arkyn, she embeds a hidden sentence within her signature. Arkyn examines the signed parchment at his opulent personal suite, surrounded by treasured scavenged items, and discovers her defiant hidden message. He adds his own response and transforms the parchment into a magical lark, noting that Kyzari possesses more resilience than he initially assessed. He reveals his ultimate goal: claiming the bronze throne of The Burn, which he believes rightfully belongs to him, and his intention to exact revenge upon Kaan Vaegor. As Arkyn's lark departs, a damaged second lark—bearing only three letters on its underside—arrives in Kyzari's cell and lands in her hand.
