Chapter 15: Feyre

Rhysand walks with his cousin Mor through the ruins of estates destroyed during the war along the Sidra river. They discuss Keir's impending visit to Velaris, the difficulty of maintaining peace with the Hewn City, and Rhysand asks Mor to undertake diplomatic missions across the continent to strengthen alliances and deter other territories from threatening the Night Court's stability.

Rhysand encounters Mor after lunch while Feyre and Elain are shopping, and they walk through the snow-dusted grounds of a wealthy estate destroyed during Hybern's attack. Rhysand notes the emotional toll the war has taken on Mor, particularly her interactions with her father Keir and Eris of the Autumn Court. When Mor asks if Keir is coming to Velaris, Rhysand confirms he expects him in spring. He offers to arrange for Mor to be absent during the visit, but she refuses, unwilling to appear as though she is hiding from her father. Rhysand then reveals his actual purpose: he asks Mor to undertake diplomatic missions across various kingdoms and territories to negotiate treaties and ensure they do not encroach on Night Court lands or human territories. He explains that while Azriel excels at infiltration, Mor's talents are better suited to winning over foreign courts. Mor initially questions whether this is motivated by concern for her inability to handle Keir, but Rhysand clarifies it is not. He assures her that Keir and Eris are aware of the Night Court's surveillance and the consequences of betrayal. When Mor asks if she truly has a choice, Rhysand insists she does and asks her to take a few days to consider the offer.
