AFTERWORD

Chapter 29

Chapter 39

Overview

This is the Acknowledgments section of the book, not a narrative chapter. Sarah J. Maas thanks the people who supported her during the writing of A Court of Frost and Starlight, including her family, medical professionals who saved her father's life, her husband, her agent, and her publishing team.

Summary

Maas expresses gratitude to the ICU team at the University of Vermont for saving her father's life during a heart attack that occurred while she was one-third through drafting the novel. She acknowledges the emotional toll of that summer and the subsequent joy of discovering her pregnancy in early autumn. She thanks her husband Josh for his care and support throughout the project, her dog Annie for comfort, her agent Tamar Rydzinski and the Laura Dail Literary Agency for guidance, editor Cassie Homer, and the extensive team at Bloomsbury publishing. She also thanks artist Charlie Bowater for the cover art, her extended family for their support during her father's medical crisis, her parents for persevering through a difficult year, and her friends for their encouragement. The acknowledgment closes with gratitude to her readers.
