AFTERWORD

Chapter 95

Chapter 94

Overview

The protagonist discovers her empty cell and realizes Veya and Kyzari have been moved. While searching for clues, she finds her messenger bird Nee dead in the cell—a bird that had carried a message from Kyzari that the protagonist had coldly rejected. As she grieves this lost opportunity, elemental beings Clode and Bulder collapse the tunnel behind her and urge her forward, revealing through Clode's urgent song that Kyzari needs her.

Summary

The protagonist races through increasingly sparse dungeons, fearing Arkyn has relocated Veya and Kyzari. Upon reaching her cell, she finds it empty and breaks down in anguish. Her despair shifts when she discovers a dead guard and a pink button—evidence that Uno may have helped free Kyzari. Further searching reveals the body of Nee, her messenger bird, torn in half in Kyzari's cell. The protagonist realizes with crushing guilt that Nee had been sent by Kyzari weeks earlier seeking help, but the protagonist had rejected the bird's plea, dismissing the notion that anyone could need her. She grieves this fatal mistake. Suddenly, the tunnel behind her collapses; the elemental beings Clode and Bulder orchestrate the cave-in, driving her forward. Clode's panicked song pierces through the chaos, crying that Kyzari needs her. The protagonist pockets Nee's remains and rushes toward Clode's call.
