Elluin Nevan Past

This chapter depicts Elluin's traumatic childbirth and the birth of her daughter Kyzari, followed by Tyroth's brutal murder of Elluin and theft of the newborn. After Elluin's death, her dragon Slátra retrieves her body and performs a final act of sacrifice, transferring her life essence to Elluin in hopes of resurrection.

Elluin labors to deliver her daughter with Slátra's presence and support nearby. After a harrowing birth where the infant appears stillborn, Slátra's nuzzle revives the child. Elluin names her Kyzari Neván Vaegor—a name honoring both her mother Mah and Kaan, the father who cannot be present. However, Tyroth arrives with a Bloodlace assassin and drugs Elluin into paralysis. The Bloodlace performs a blood ritual that reveals Kaan's location to the north. Tyroth, enraged by Kyzari's female sex and the revelation of Kaan's existence, orders the Bloodlace killed, then impales Elluin through the chest with a stone lance. As Elluin dies, Tyroth removes the diadem from her brow—a parasitic metal artifact—and transfers it to the newborn Kyzari before leaving with the child. Elluin's final moments are consumed by horror and the realization she never told Kyzari she loves her. In the aftermath, Slátra—devastated by the severing of her bond with Elluin—battles and kills the remaining Moltenmaws pursuing her, then breaches the palace to retrieve Elluin's body. Slátra retrieves the corpse but cannot act against Tyroth without risking Kyzari. She retreats with Elluin's broken body, ascending skyward to join her other deceased dragon kin. In a final act of sacrifice, Slátra unbinds her life essence and plants it within Elluin's chest, hoping it will restore her to life so she might reunite with Kyzari, before her own body turns to stone.
