Carl defeats an elf assassin sent to kill Louis and loots his equipment, including a dangerous enchanted bracelet for Samantha. The chapter explores growing concerns about Samantha's rapid power increase and increasingly erratic behavior, including a disturbing encounter with an ursine cleric where she makes violent threats.

Carl kills an elf assassin and reaches level 55, upgrading his Ring of Divine Suffering to grant two stat points per kill. He loots the elf's inventory, finding crawler biscuits and an arrow of Enthusiastic Double Gonorrhea intended for Louis, and worries about Juice Box's safety on the ninth floor. Carl experiences guilt over his violent behavior, and Donut encourages him to develop a catchphrase for killing enemies instead of being excessively brutal.
