Chapter 61

Carl meets Signet, Holger, and Areson at a settlement to receive warnings about the Gehenna brambles spreading from the north and the deity Diwata being summoned to protect the forest. Carl then equips himself and Donut with magical nipple rings, with Donut reluctantly accepting one in exchange for a valuable potion that Carl has received from his benefactor—a gift that contains a cryptic message revealing Circe Took has sponsored Diwata's entry into the game.

Carl arrives at a large settlement with his dinosaur herd and encounters NPCs Signet, Holger, and Areson. Signet warns him that elves are hunting them and that a plague of Gehenna brambles spreads from the north. More concerning, the forest deities and dryads are casting a spell to summon Diwata, the forest protector, to aid them. Signet cautions Carl that Diwata is unforgiving of apostates and will use all-trees as informants to locate them. Carl learns that Edgar is preparing a final battle spell near the elf castle. The group then enters town to equip themselves with four magical nipple rings obtained from recent loot. After much negotiation, Carl convinces Donut to wear one of the rings by offering her his valuable Pawna's Cries potion as a reward. When Carl pierces his own nipple first to demonstrate, he receives an achievement mocking him. A hidden message in the potion's accompanying note, revealed through his Escape Plan skill, contains a warning from P. Hu. that Circe Took sponsored Diwata, and instructs Carl to give the +3 potion to Donut to help her reach level 15 in Magic Missile, using temporary ability boosts from Prepotente, Imani, and Samantha. This revelation indicates that Circe has been planning to send Diwata after Carl regardless of the court case outcome, seeking revenge for her humiliation and her daughter's injury.
