Chapter 64

Carl and Team Katia prepare for the Butcher's Masquerade by checking out Katia's personal space. Bautista and Katia's relationship is revealed and discussed. Later, the mysterious goat-ranked crawler Prepotente arrives at the pub exhausted and delivers a potion intended for Donut that removes effects of Scolopendra's Transmutation spell, with a warning not to give it to Tina. Multiple benefactor boxes have arrived containing similar items for Donut.

Carl visits Team Katia's personal space with Bautista and Donut to wait for a meeting with Prepotente. Bautista shows Carl his extensive collection of Jaxbrin beanie toys, some acquired from a commercial shoot where he stole a sample box. When Carl mentions that Bautista and Katia are together, Donut is surprised and goes to find Katia. Bautista admits he was worried Carl had romantic feelings for Katia, but Carl clarifies she's like a sister to him. Donut makes various jokes about Carl's dating history and preferences. Bautista offers Carl some harmless slate butterfly figures that absorb energy from light sources.

Later, Prepotente arrives at the pub, visibly exhausted and marked with fifteen hunter-killer marks. He refuses offers to rest or see the bathroom upgrade and states he wishes them no harm. Elle confronts him about his rude behavior, but Prepotente dismisses her. He delivers a black, bubbling potion from his benefactor box, explaining it was meant for Donut. The potion is labeled "I Take it All Back" and removes effects of Scolopendra's Transmutation spell, with explicit instructions to give it to Princess Donut and use it at the right time, but under no circumstances to give it to Tina. Prepotente leaves immediately on his dragon-like creature Bianca. Carl warns Donut not to use the potion without his approval and not to tell Signet about it. He reveals that Elle and Imani have also received benefactor boxes from the Apothecary, also containing items for Donut, suggesting a coordinated effort.
