Chapter 6
Chapter 2
Overview
Carl and Donut examine new equipment rewards in the saferoom while Mordecai works excitedly on his upgraded alchemy table. Carl opens over fifty achievements and boxes from recent events, receiving various rewards including new gear and a quest update from Emberus about investigating his son's death.
Summary
In the saferoom, Donut reluctantly accepts a ghillie suit and boonie hat as camouflage gear, though she complains about their appearance. Mordecai emerges wearing a snowsuit and raccoon hat, earning ridicule from Carl and Donut. He informs them the ceasefire lasts approximately 60 hours but could end early under specific conditions: unanimous team vote, a warlord voluntarily withdrawing (impossible per the AI), or all teams completing defenses and marking themselves ready. Donut insists on healing Mongo first using a Revitalize Pet potion that Mordecai will examine to learn its recipe. They discuss Quan's cloak, which will go to Donut as a shoulder accessory that can be worn alongside her other gear. Carl then opens over fifty achievements and boxes accumulated since the end of phase two of the previous floor. Notable achievements include: Lord of the Flies (for triggering a trap that hit a fellow crawler), Demons Hate This One Trick (for teleporting demon-possessed shells), Chickenshit Exploit (for using game exploits to help kill Quan, earning a Platinum Tserendolgor Box), Celestial Loot (picking up Quan's cloak), Used Pet (adopting Mongo), and Touched by a Demon (earning a Celestial Heavy Metal Box). Other strange achievements include Crab Chowder, Unbirthing, and Male Pattern Baldness. Carl receives a quest update from Emberus asking him to gain permission from the High Cleric at the Temple of Issitoq to break the truce between gods and demons so Amayon can reveal information about Emberus's dead son, requiring Carl to obtain a Soul Crystal—Apito. Donut eagerly prepares to open her Celestial box.
