Chapter 3

Carl oversees Donut's loot box distribution from the previous floor, which includes multiple new spellbooks and two powerful charging pillows. The chapter culminates in equipping Donut with Quan's Celestial cloak after using a charisma-boosting potion to maximize her constitution stat increase, dramatically improving her survivability.

After clearing the previous floor, Donut opens her extensive loot boxes while Carl and Mordecai observe. She receives numerous scrolls, four new spellbooks (Flak, Shield, Sentry, and You're Not Done Yet), and two remarkable items from her sponsor Long Haul Biological Waste Management Solutions: the Tiara of a Thousand Lights with an accompanying red charging pillow that can drain magical properties from hat items and store up to 99 absorption jewels, and a second purple charging pillow from the Apothecary that works on any magical item type. Donut places two hats on the pillows to begin charging. Carl and Mordecai then examine Quan's Cloak of the Benevolent Champion, a Celestial item designed to raise the wearer's lowest stat to match their highest over 66 hours while enhancing random spells and skills. They debate timing before deciding Donut should learn the Shield spell, consume Mordecai's charisma-boosting potion to artificially inflate her charisma stat (making the cloak think her base charisma is 193 instead of 163), and immediately equip the cloak. When she puts it on, it resizes to fit her properly as a shawl. The cloak buffs four of her spells to level 15: Bad Attitude, Wall of Fire, Heal Critter, and Puddle Jumper. One skill also receives the level 15 buff, though Donut cannot yet determine which one. They prepare to open Carl's loot boxes next.
