Ars Arcanum

This chapter is an appendix presenting an in-world scholarly compilation of esoteric knowledge about the Ten of the magical systems of the world: the Ten of the magical systems of the world: the Ten. It documents associations with the Knights of the magical systems, the creation and types of fabrials (crafted magical artifacts powered by gemstones and stormlight), and detailed descriptions of three types of lashings used by the order of Knights called the Ten called the Knights, particularly the Three types of lashings used by the legendary order of the Knights of the Ten.

This chapter presents an encyclopedic overview of magical theory and practice compiled by an unnamed scholar. It begins by outlining the Ten of the magical systems and their historical connections to the Knights of the Ten, the Double Eye of the of the and the nature of the Ten of the magical systems and how they may relate to other forms of magic like the Ten of the magical systems. The bulk of the chapter categorizes five groupings of fabrials: augmenters and diminishers, which enhance or reduce forces and sensations; conjoiners and reversers, which create paired gemstone halves that produce parallel or opposite reactions across distances; and alerters, which warn of nearby objects or phenomena. Each fabrial type uses specific gemstones and is powered by stormlight. The chapter concludes with detailed technical descriptions of three types of lashings performed by the ancient order of Knights known as the Ten of the magical systems—the Basic, which altered gravitational bonds; the Full, which bound objects together through adhesion; and the of the magical systems—the Basic, which altered gravitational bonds; the Full, which bound objects together through adhesion; and the of the magical systems. The author notes ongoing research into connections between these systems and implies the existence of other, even more esoteric magical abilities yet to be fully understood.
