Rhysand arrives at the Spring Court manor, confronting Tamlin in the hallway outside Feyre's bedroom. Rhysand takes Feyre's hand and winnows them away before she can say goodbye.

One morning, Feyre awakens to heated voices in the hallway and discovers Rhysand has entered the manor. Rhysand notes Feyre appears thin and offers his hand, asking her to leave. Tamlin violently opposes this, positioning himself between them and ordering Rhysand out. Rhysand reads Feyre's mind without permission, referencing a past incident where she slapped Tamlin. Feyre dresses in her Night Court attire while Tamlin waits on her bed, and they briefly discuss whether she should attempt to listen to Rhysand regarding potential war. When Rhysand coughs from the hallway, Feyre decides not to hide further. Tamlin makes a shocking offer: he will give Rhysand anything—anything at all—if the High Lord releases Feyre from her bargain. Rhysand refuses, saying he already has everything he wants, and before Feyre can respond, he takes her hand and winnows them both away in a black wind.
