Chapter 13

Carl's group encounters two female mantaurs named Genesis and Rapture, who worship Enyo rather than Grull and practice domination magic. They dismiss the group as "roadkill" and leave for the Hairpin. A half-mantaur in a gimp suit then appears in garage three, revealed to be Corcunda, Dong Quixote's old friend, triggering a quest to reunite them—though the quest warns that Corcunda's other half, Porky, is also somewhere on the floor.

Garage two opens to reveal Genesis and Rapture, two female mantaurs at level 95 with the Lady Mantaur Dominator class. Unlike male mantaurs, they have four legs arranged in an unusual configuration with two upper hands and two lower hands in boots. Both wear white racing suits with red-and-blue stripes and massive white cowboy hats. Genesis speaks with a Southern Kentucky accent while Rapture is silent, chewing tobacco. When Radoslav offers a beer, Rapture uses a harpoon-bolt ability to retrieve it, then both reject the group as "roadkill" and leave for the Hairpin tavern. Chiyome warns the group not to underestimate them despite their apparent dumbness, noting they practice domination magic. Mordecai explains domination magic saps energy or mana and that Carl's Mind Balance will keep him immune. From garage three, a half-mantaur emerges wearing a black vinyl gimp suit with a zipper at the mouth. Chiyome identifies him as someone split vertically down the middle, standing on one right leg with two right arms. She explains the Split Personality spell creates such splits and fleshmancers can rejoin them. Donut speculates this might be Corcunda, Dong Quixote's friend. The half-mantaur waves before the garage door closes, playing "Free Bird." Carl refuses to tell Dong about finding Corcunda to avoid drama, but the system immediately triggers a quest: reunite Dong with Corcunda (part one), then locate Corcunda's other half Porky and find a fleshmancer to rejoin them (part two). The quest reward offers two stand-ins for the 11th floor Arena. Jasha suddenly wakes from his beer-soaked nap asking for his beer.
