Chapter 21

Carl's team battles the boss kangaroo demon Prison Pocket in a chaotic fight during extreme hailstorm conditions. Carl must obtain a dead joey skin to infiltrate the boss's pouch and plant explosive devices inside it, while managing interference from rival racers and the collateral damage to summoned gremlins.

Carl and his team approach Prison Pocket, a giant level 170 kangaroo boss sitting in the road. Carl explains that NPCs can loot inventory items under certain circumstances, allowing them to steal Dong's lance. As hail intensifies, the group engages the boss with Donut firing magic missiles and the womantaurs attempting to retrieve a dead joey skin. Prison Pocket devours gremlins summoned by Carl to heal himself, while the engineer NPC Niels emerges from the kangaroo's pouch wearing a joey costume. Genesis, one of the womantaurs and a rival racer, kills Niels with a grappling hook shot to secure the engineer kill for her team. Carl strips the joey skin from Niels's corpse and equips it, gaining a jump ability and acid protection, though the costume severely impairs his mobility. Carl hops toward the boss and intentionally allows himself to be stuffed into Prison Pocket's pouch, navigating through the gooey interior filled with corpses and bones. At the pouch's bottom, Carl deploys two explosive satchels, then uses Gloom Wraith Phase to phase through and escape as the bombs detonate, destroying the boss. The explosion sends Carl flying across the road as both the APV and GTO cars zoom past. Despite defeating the boss, Carl's team places seventh overall in Heat Two, while Team Sparkles wins first place.
