Chapter 46

Carl sets a trap for the Tigrans using Donut's charisma-based spell to distract them, then places disintegration traps near their truck. As the group leaves town, they encounter the skeletal creatures from the Wienermobile, who are carrying a mysterious and foul-smelling bucket.

Carl, shaken from an earlier outburst, discusses his emotional state with Imani and Donut before proposing a plan involving the Tigrans. Back at the garage, Carl convinces Donut to use her All Eyes on Me spell—now castable through speech rather than song due to her high charisma—to distract the two Tigrans and their pig Penelope. While Donut delivers an extended monologue about pig relationships (referencing Miss Piggy, Piglet, Wilbur, and Peppa Pig), Carl quickly lays two silent, Tigran-specific disintegration traps on either side of the truck. The traps are programmed to activate only when stepped on by Tigrans and should not harm Penelope even if she is being carried. After Donut finishes her rambling advice and breaks the spell, the charmed Tigrans are left confused and unaware they've been affected. Carl, Donut, Elle, and Imani move down the sidewalk, where they encounter the skeletal pope-creature (the Minister of Blood-Letting) and his companions from the Wienermobile. The Minister is carrying a bucket of white liquid that smells revolting. Donut waves cheerfully at the Minister, who bows in response. Elle expresses discomfort with the creature and questions the contents of the bucket, while Imani reveals she has examined it and found something even worse than what it appears to be.
