Chapter 25

Carl and Donut open their loot boxes in the safe room while the rest of the group enjoys downtime playing Mario Kart and other games. Carl receives increasingly unhinged achievements related to wearing the kangaroo suit, while Donut grapples with her own disappointing loot. The chapter ends with Mordecai arriving with a dire warning for Rend, who dies immediately.

Carl and Donut return to the safe room to open their loot boxes, as their blood bars need replenishing and time is running short. The safe room is occupied by various NPCs, sluggalos, and party members engaged in leisure activities—playing Mario Kart on a Wii, with Samantha dominating despite controlling her character with her tongue, while Bodi plays Forza in another room. Carl struggles with the kangaroo suit's persistent effects, including bodily functions and an escalating "Fursona" skill that increasingly makes the suit feel like his actual body. Donut opens her boxes and complains about poor rewards while bonding with Imani over family backgrounds; Imani deflects from discussing her past. Carl receives a series of bizarre and sexually suggestive achievements from the system AI, including "Weaseler," "Slip-'n'-slide," and "Brotein," each with increasingly unhinged commentary from the AI voice, which is glitching more frequently. His Platinum Boss Box yields a Skill Potion that upgrades his hotlist from 20 to 25 spaces and unlocks the Contingency skill for automated item usage. After Mongo and Rend drunkenly stumble into the safe room from guard duty, Mordecai arrives holding empty potion balls with a grave pronouncement toward Rend: "And now you perish once again. The next time will herald the beginning of the end." Rend dies immediately.
