Chapter 47

At a pit stop combining four different race tracks, Carl's team receives a splooge potion that provides environmental protection, then learns that all heats will be randomly reassigned to different tracks for the second half of the race. Carl's team is reassigned to Satan's Water Park alongside Florin, while other teams scatter to different tracks. Carl discovers that his traps have eliminated two Tigran racers, and resolves to catch up to Team Sparkles by targeting Dwight the unicorn.

Carl's team arrives at a pit stop location that combines four separate race tracks: Satan's Water Park, the devil's cliffs, an eternal slum, and connections to other worlds with different themes. They purchase splooge—a foul-smelling secretion potion from bat creatures—that provides approximately thirty minutes of environmental protection when consumed. While discussing the various tracks and other racers' progress, Zev announces a significant twist: each heat will be randomly reassigned to a different track once the leading team in that heat times out, meaning teams may not finish on the same track they started on. Florin and Lucia's heat moves from the desert to Satan's Water Park; Chris's team stays in the desert; Prepotente moves to the jungle; and Carl's team is assigned to Satan's Water Park, an hour behind Florin's team in the same heat. Before departing, Carl receives notifications that his previously set traps have activated and dissolved two Tigran racers, eliminating Team One Fine Pig entirely. Carl learns that getting the key is crucial to obtaining a pig, and Florin offers to help slow down competitors. Carl reveals his plan to target Dwight, a unicorn, to catch up to the leading Team Sparkles.
