105. Children of Passions

Three critical battles unfold simultaneously across Urithiru: Rlain and Dabbid are intercepted while attempting to reach the imprisoned human queen; Kaladin defeats the Pursuer in a dramatic duel, forcing him to exhaust all his reserve bodies; and in the infirmary, Moash kills Teft after destroying his spren Phendorana, breaking the Windrunner's spiritual bond before dealing a fatal blow.

Rlain and Dabbid attempt to deliver water to the basement where the human queen is imprisoned, but are stopped by a female singer guard who recognizes Rlain as the listener who was imprisoned until Venli's intervention. Despite claiming they are not traitors, they are taken for verification of their authorization, thwarting their rescue attempt.

Meanwhile, Kaladin faces the Pursuer in the atrium in front of assembled crowds and Fused observers. Using Navani's device to dodge the creature's attacks, Kaladin forces the Pursuer through three of his four reserve bodies. During their final grapple, Kaladin taunts the Pursuer about having never faced true death, declaring himself death itself. The psychological pressure causes the Pursuer to panic and flee as a ribbon of light, materializing in his final vulnerable body before the watching soldiers—a significant defeat that diminishes the Fused's standing.

In the infirmary, Teft fights a delaying action against Moash while Lift slowly crawls toward other Radiants. When Moash threatens to kill an unconscious Radiant, Teft surrenders himself as a distraction. Phendorana manifests a phantom spear to block Moash's Shardblade, stunning him, but Moash counters by drawing a strange dagger and stabbing Phendorana directly, destroying her essence and severing Teft's spiritual bond. As Teft collapses in spiritual agony, Moash kills him with a Shardblade thrust through the neck, claiming satisfaction in eliminating someone Kaladin loves while declaring himself merely "silence" rather than acknowledging his monstrosity.
