Marcus, now retired from his leadership duties on Poseidon after orchestrating a democratic transition, finds himself purposeless despite living in apparent utopia. As he reflects on his new freedom and observes the transformed society, he encounters Kal and begins contemplating a novel career direction: exploring Poseidon's dangerous oceans through a non-human android form.

Three years after the revolution on Poseidon, Marcus has voluntarily removed himself from power and overseen the population's takeover of the autofactories. He sits in a public park enjoying the transformed society where humans have become an aerial species living in floating cities, with the aquatic cities now repurposed for industry. The floating mats have been largely abandoned in favor of aerial habitation. As Marcus walks to a food kiosk and observes the thriving population below the dome, he reflects on his strange predicament: despite achieving his goal of democratic transition, he now has no duties or purpose. He acknowledges that Bob's driven personality, useful during crises, has left Bob struggling with redundancy. While enjoying the view of Poseidon's ocean with its dangerous unknown creatures, Marcus encounters Kal, who reveals that Marcus's location privacy is impossible due to his fame and social media presence. Marcus suggests he's considering a new career in oceanography. When Kal references non-human android forms like Bob-1's pterosaur design and Garfield's innovations, Marcus expresses interest in an unconventional solution: creating a dolphin-form android to explore Poseidon's oceans.
