45.Pav Arrival

Jacques arrives at HIP 84051-2 to prepare for the arrival of Pav refugees, but struggles with the melancholy reality that this is a forced evacuation rather than true expansion. Phineas and Ferb propose using genetic regeneration techniques to recreate Pav flora and fauna before waking the refugees, giving them a more habitable world than the bare planet currently available.

Jacques settles into orbit around HIP 84051-2, a young planet with primitive ecosystems still in the pre-angiosperm and ectothermic stages. He reviews survey notes compiled by a Bob named Steve, detailing the planet's climate, ecology, and geology. While waiting for the Pav colony ships carrying refugees in stasis to arrive, Jacques becomes deeply depressed, realizing that this mission represents flight and refuge rather than expansion or opportunity. The genetic samples collected by Phineas and Ferb before the Others attacked Pav remain in stasis. When the colony ships approach, Jacques visits Phineas, who notices his low morale. Phineas and Ferb have studied Bill's recent work on somatic regeneration from genetic material during their voyage and believe they can adapt these techniques to Pav biology. They propose delaying the decanting of the Pav refugees while they attempt to recreate the planet's native life forms, offering the refugees a richer world than the barren one currently available. Jacques agrees to this plan, feeling immediate relief at having a constructive path forward.
