Jacques delivers news to Hazjiar that the Bobs have defeated the Others and eliminated the existential threat. He then visits the Pav Reclamation Project station to review progress on restoring the Pav homeworld's ecosystems and acquiring materials for the Pav's future use.

Jacques lands at HIP 84051 and meets with Pav leader Hazjiar, who is surrounded by her military guard. He informs her that the battle against the Others is over and they have been completely wiped out, eliminating any future threat. Hazjiar expresses concern about whether the Others might regroup, but Jacques assures her they will not return. She questions why the Bobs possess such power yet seem reluctant to use it, noting their apparent paradox of wealth without desire. Jacques explains that the Bobs have no interest in wielding power over others and simply want autonomy. He states that the Bobs have figured out their place in the cosmos and will step back from involvement unless specifically requested. Hazjiar responds thoughtfully, indicating that some among her people will welcome this news while she herself remains uncertain, but acknowledges they will endure. After the meeting, Jacques travels to the Pav Reclamation Project station hosted in Bill's Moot. There he meets with Ferb, who reports steady progress: they can produce samples of most species and expect to eventually restore approximately seventy-five percent of the planet's ecosystems. Ferb also mentions they have identified candidate planetoids in nearby systems that Bill's asteroid-movers can transport, eventually allowing them to provide the Pav with their home system restored and supplemented with metal resources.
