Chapter 79

Feyre meets with Miryam and Drakon to arrange the secret transport of the Cauldron to their hidden island. She then orchestrates a major gathering at her family's ruined estate, bringing together High Lords, human leaders, and other key figures for a critical meeting to renegotiate the Treaty between Fae and human worlds.

Feyre greets Miryam and Drakon, impressed by their warmth despite their bloodied appearance from recent battle. Rhys, weakened from his recent resurrection, remains on cushions while the group discusses Jurian's fate—Mor convinced them not to kill him, though Drakon and Miryam clearly wished they had. Feyre learns that Nephelle, the legendary warrior-scribe, has arrived with their contingent. She proposes that Miryam and Drakon's island, Cretea, serve as a permanent hiding place for the Cauldron, as she fears the High Lords will war over it. They agree to smuggle it away on one of their ships within days. Feyre then arranges a massive meeting at her family's old estate, bringing together all the High Lords, commanders, generals, and human leaders. The gathering is tense: Beron ignores Lucien; Eris bears wounds and exchanges a look of sadness with his estranged brother; Tamlin arrives and, seeing Lucien in Illyrian leathers, walks past without speaking, devastating Lucien who had helped save Feyre despite their friendship. Jurian and Graysen arrive with human contingents and are deliberately seated on opposite ends of the room from Miryam and Drakon. Finally, Vassa—a human queen cursed to return to a death-lord—arrives. She thanks Feyre for her father's kindness, reveals other human queens may pose threats to peace, and demands Feyre attempt to break her curse. When Nesta hesitates to attend the meeting, Feyre convinces her sister to join her. As Feyre and Nesta enter the assembled room of humans and Fae alike, Feyre announces her intention to renegotiate the Treaty between their worlds.
