II. The Father

Carl deploys automatons to release the vorpals—divine suicide-bomber entities—to deal with the rampaging demon Minge while he and Katia complete their assassination contract. Katia successfully obtains the magical orchid from Astrid (the mark they killed), triggering a job completion and prompting her to reunite with Carl in the strip club as Minge is destroyed by the vorpals from below.

After killing Astrid and having her body collected by Katia, Carl receives a job update from the Night Wyrm guild master (Astrid's husband) confirming the assassination. Carl learns that Katia has obtained the orchid and completed the quest. While Minge rampages through the club destroying NPCs and infrastructure, Carl consults Mordecai about vorpals—divine entities deputized by gods that hunt demons and detonate if losing combat. Carl realizes the vorpals sealed behind the hidden door in the club's lower level could eliminate Minge without drawing them upstairs (since Li Na, a demon-race character, is absent). Carl sends Katia upstairs with an invisibility potion, then instructs NPCs to flee before deploying his automatons, including one carrying a demon snare trap, downward through the secret hallway to destroy the wall bracers and release the vorpals. Samantha briefly captures Charles the bartender in her body-neck cavity before Minge tears him in half during a confrontation. Carl's automatons reach Minge and activate, causing her pain and forcing her to retreat momentarily. Carl and Samantha flee to the top-floor strip club where they reunite with Katia. The stripper characters Damascus Steel and Anaconda are grieving (having learned of Astrid's death), while Samantha befriends a male stripper. As the club shakes and Minge's arm briefly intrudes, the vorpals below successfully kill Minge, spraying yellow fluid through the floor hole as she dies cursing Psamathe. Katia confirms possession of the orchid and notes she will not consume it until reaching the ninth floor to avoid immediate relocation; one final objective remains to secure their safety.
