Chapter 48

Carl, Donut, and Mongo face off against Tom, a level-75 turkey shaman deckmaster, and Sharp-Elbows, a level-80 ogre necromancer, in a collapsing barn filled with zombie turkeys. The battle escalates as the structure slides toward a cliff edge, culminating in Carl being impaled by Sharp-Elbows' spikes before Raul the crab decapitates her and Donut Puddle Jumps the group to safety.

Carl's team enters a heated barn where Tom the turkey boss and Sharp-Elbows the ogre witch command armies of white turkeys. Carl's Extinction Sigil charm effect is negated by the boss event, forcing direct combat. The turkeys remain silent and non-hostile until Tom plays an "Idolized" mystic card, turning them hostile and red. Tom also plays a "Ralphie" card that dispels all active magic and mutes Carl's team from casting spells. Both bosses summon temple guard totems—Tom summons a Wakinyan Turkey Temple Guard, while Sharp-Elbows and Donut (who steals one of her cards) each summon Unk Tehi Lizard Temple Guards. Sharp-Elbows equips a powerful Worm Fulcrum necro staff that resurrects dead turkeys as zombies. Carl fights through the chaos and manages to kick Tom with his Daughter's Kiss skill, obliterating the turkey deckmaster. However, his attack causes the barn structure to destabilize and begin sliding toward a cliff edge. As everything tumbles toward the precipice, Sharp-Elbows crashes into Carl like a missile, impaling him dozens of times with her two-foot black spikes, piercing his arms, stomach, legs, neck, and both eyes. The ogre whispers cryptically about starvation and Carl's ability to "satiate us all" before being decapitated by Raul the crab, who breaks her necro staff. Carl, gravely wounded and barely conscious, manages to collect Sharp-Elbows' corpse into his inventory before Donut uses a Puddle Jump to escape as the barn collapses into the ocean below.
